Miss Foskett and Mr Read had the pleasure of taking 16 students on the World Challenge expedition to eSwatini and South Africa over the summer holidays. It was an incredible experience, and the students were absolutely fantastic throughout.

The trip provided the students with some really valuable experiences, but it was also mentally and physically demanding. They faced every challenge with resilience, determination and a positive attitude, and we could not have been prouder of them.

One of the highlights of the expedition was spending four days living and working alongside a local community. During this time, we helped to dig a trench and lay piping to provide access to clean water. The students formed genuine connections with the children in the community, and when it came time to leave, there were lots of tears on both sides.

The trekking element of the expedition was equally challenging. On our final day, the group climbed the equivalent height of Snowdon while carrying full backpacks in temperatures of around 30°C. We were very happy when World Challenge informed us that we were the only team on that itinerary to complete the day's trek whilst it was still light.

Overall, the students demonstrated great resilience, teamwork and character throughout the expedition. They were outstanding ambassadors for the school and should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
